Choices in Hotel Furniture
Arranging hotel furniture can be overwhelming for a new hotel owner or designer. There are plenty
of rooms, lobbies, and public spaces to furnish and there are many hotel
furniture suppliers that offer different furniture models. One of the first
steps to complete before shopping around is to count the number of furniture
sets and lobby furniture that will be required by the hotel. This can be done
by counting the number of rooms, their size, and the number of public spaces
that will need to be furnished.
The owner of a hotel that does not have a lot of
room and wants to go with the more eclectic, bed and breakfast type may want to
consider local antique shops or furniture liquidators. If matching furniture is
not a concern, these locations may have unique pieces that can be used as hotel
lobby furniture or hotel room furniture. Hotel owners can find good deals with
furniture liquidators and used furniture stores, but they must check the
condition and quality of the furniture before purchasing.
The size of each room is also another calculation
that must be done before purchasing furniture for the hotel. The size and
layout of the room must be planned before the hotel owner chooses a certain set
of furniture. An owner or designer may not need to be careful with the size of
hotel lobby furniture as the lobby is usually a larger and more open space.
Hotel room furniture, however, may need to fit in a small or odd-sized
space.
